Gathering wisdom:experts and representatives in the field of global ecological environment
As an important activity in the field of ecological and environmental services of the 2022 China International Trade in services Fair,the forum invited representatives from the Ministry of ecological environment,the United Nations Environment Programme(UNEP),the International Renewable Energy Agency,international metropolises such as London,Paris,Tokyo,Seoul and Ulaanbaatar,ecological and environmental departments of Chinese cities such as Shenzhen and Hong Kong,Tsinghua University,Peking University,the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences Experts and representatives from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other universities,scientific research institutes and other institutions attended the meeting.
Focusing on the theme of pollution reduction,carbon reduction and synergy,the forum focused on promoting the control of air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions,and exchanged and shared experiences on the main measures,policy tools,achievements and progress of air quality improvement and carbon emission control in international metropolises.
At the same time,as one of the parallel activities of the third"international clean air and blue sky day"organized by the climate and clean air Alliance(CCAC)of the United Nations Environment Programme,the forum advocates global consensus and action as soon as possible,demonstrating the ambition and effectiveness of clean air and climate action.

This forum is composed of plenary meeting and two sub forums.On September 4,the sub forum"low carbon transportation,green transformation"was held first;On September 5,the plenary meeting and the sub forum"green finance to help low carbon cities"were launched simultaneously.
At the plenary meeting,Tan Xuxiang,vice mayor of Beijing,Li Gao,director of the climate change response Department of the Ministry of ecology and environment,Tu Ruihe,chief representative of the UNEP representative office in China,attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.Francisco La Carmela,director general of the international renewable energy agency,delivered a speech via video.
Tan Xuxiang said that Beijing has made great efforts to control air pollution and actively respond to climate change.It has successively implemented a series of action plans such as clean air and blue sky defense,and achieved positive results.He expressed the hope to deepen international cooperation in the field of ecological environment,share Beijing's governance experience,provide reference for more cities in the world,and jointly build a community of life between man and nature.
Li Gao said that climate change is a prominent global challenge at present,which concerns the common interests of the international community and the future of the earth.As an international metropolis,Beijing is actively exploring ways to deal with climate change,which will provide very useful local experience and reference for global climate governance.
Tu Ruihe pointed out in his speech that Beijing has made continuous efforts to improve air quality and actively respond to climate change with remarkable results.UNEP has always shared Beijing's experience with cities in developing countries.In particular,the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics achieved carbon neutrality through the application of advanced green and low-carbon technologies and renewable energy,with the support and participation of stakeholders and the public,and achieved significant demonstration effects.
In his speech,Francisco La Carmela expressed appreciation for China's"double carbon"action and efforts,hoped to further deepen cooperation with China,especially Beijing,and welcomed Beijing as a local city to actively participate in specific international cooperation on renewable energy promotion and application and climate change response.
In the keynote speeches and exchanges of the plenary session,Zhang Dawei,deputy director of the Department of atmosphere of the Ministry of ecology and environment,Feng Haoran,deputy director of the environmental protection agency of the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,he Kebin,academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering and President of the carbon neutrality Research Institute of Tsinghua University,he Hong,academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering and researcher of the ecological environment research center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences,Ding Caixuan,head of the climate and energy strategy group of the environmental policy section of the climate and environment headquarters of Seoul,South Korea,Mei Guohui,an inspector of the business management department of the people's Bank of China,shared the latest policies,tools,actions,achievements and path plans in the field of air pollution control and climate change response at international,domestic and metropolitan levels.
On the afternoon of the 5th,the conference set up two special sessions,"PM2.5 and O3 coordinated governance"and"pollution reduction and carbon reduction synergy",and invited Chinese and foreign experts to discuss and propose ideas.
